Firms that limit service in Nigeria

  • Elite Trader Funding: Payments are available only with limitations through Stripe's extended network or preview; the firm does not say whether purchases from these countries succeed.
  • FTMO: In addition to the countries restricted from using FTMO Futures, FTMO does not provide Live Funded Accounts to clients residing in the countries listed. Clients in these countries can still use the full FTMO Futures experience on a Sim-Funded Account, including payouts; only the transition to a Live Funded Account is unavailable. Traders considered eligible for a Live Funded Account who reside in one of the listed countries may be contacted directly by the Trading Department, which will assess the available options. Progression from Sim-Funded to Live Funded is at the discretion of the Trading Department; the list is subject to internal business decisions and changes in compliance with evolving legal and regulatory standards.
  • Hola Prime: Residents may hold funded capital up to USD 90,000 instead of the standard USD 400,000 cap. This is a cap, not a ban; the Terms (20.12) list the same 11 countries in a different order.

How we chose

Why these firms for Nigeria

Many firms name Nigeria on their own lists, so the set starts by removing them. Local demand is concentrated on a handful of forex brands, and we look for payout rails that do not depend on a local bank account: Rise, crypto and Wise.

Firms that name Nigeria on their own restricted list are left out; the rest are ordered by our editorial score, how much traders in Nigeria search for the firm, payout methods that suit Nigeria, years in business and where the firm is registered. How the score works

Published by FundedFast Editorial. Page text last updated October 29, 2026.

Prop firms are tabulated here for readers in Nigeria. Residency rules, naira handling and payout currency can differ from firm to firm and only the firm can confirm them, so its own eligibility and payment pages are where to look before a fee leaves your account. The session times below follow West Africa Time, which has no daylight saving.

Lagos clocks do not change, so the sessions move only when London and New York change theirs: with an 08:00 local open, London starts at 08:00 or 09:00 and New York at 13:00 or 14:00.

How does the Central Bank of Nigeria describe the naira's exchange-rate system?

The Central Bank of Nigeria's page on the foreign exchange market says the Bank has used controlled, floating and managed float exchange rate systems over time. It describes the managed float as a system that allows the influence of demand and supply to determine the exchange rate while permitting occasional intervention by the Bank to manage persistent fluctuations.

The page says the Bank introduced a managed floating system in 2016 and that in 2023 it adopted a 'willing buyer, willing seller' model for trade transactions, which unified the foreign exchange market and collapsed the earlier segments into the Investors' and Exporters' window, now renamed the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).

It names medical needs, school fees, travel allowances and small and medium enterprise transactions as examples of eligible transactions at the NFEM, processed by deposit money banks.

The page gives no exchange rate figure and does not mention prop firms or payouts from them. Ask your bank for the current rate and its conversion terms before you convert.

SEC Nigeria's About page describes the Commission as the primary regulatory institution of the Nigerian capital market and says that since its inception in 1979 its statutory purpose has been to promote and facilitate the growth of equitable, effective and open financial markets for Nigeria. A banner on the page says the President has assented to the Investments and Securities Bill (ISB) 2025, which repeals the Investments and Securities Act No. 29 of 2007. The page does not mention prop firms, funded accounts or foreign exchange, and this page cites no SEC Nigeria statement about them, so it gives no view on whether any firm needs authorisation. A Nigerian lawyer can say how any of this applies to you.

General information, not legal, tax or investment advice. The rules that apply can differ from one person to the next, so check the primary sources linked on this page and ask a qualified adviser before you act.

Taxes on funded trader payouts in Nigeria

The Nigeria Tax Act 2025, in force from 1 January 2026, says the income of an individual resident in Nigeria is chargeable to tax in Nigeria wherever it arises, whether or not it is brought into Nigeria. Under the Nigeria Tax Administration Act 2025, the tax authority of your State or the FCT administers tax for resident individuals, and every taxable person must file a return each year. Neither Act mentions prop firms, so this page does not say how a payout is taxed. Speak to a Nigerian tax adviser before you file.

General guidance only. Confirm with a local tax advisor before filing.

What does the Central Bank of Nigeria say it is responsible for?

The Central Bank of Nigeria's About page says its mandate is derived from the 1958 Act of Parliament, as amended in 1991, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2007, and that the CBN Act, 2007 charges the Bank with the overall control and administration of the monetary and financial sector policies of the Federal Government.

The page lists five objects of the Bank:

  • to ensure monetary and price stability
  • to issue legal tender currency in Nigeria
  • to maintain external reserves to safeguard the international value of the legal tender currency
  • to promote a sound financial system in Nigeria
  • to act as banker and provide economic and financial advice to the Federal Government

It adds that the Bank is charged with administering the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA), 2020, with the sole aim of ensuring high standards of banking practice and financial stability through its surveillance activities, as well as the promotion of an efficient payments system.

The page does not mention prop firms, proprietary trading, funded accounts or evaluations, and this page cites no Central Bank statement about them. Read this section as a summary of the Bank's own words and not as advice on Nigerian law.

What does the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 say about a resident's income?

The Nigeria Tax Act 2025 (Act No. 7) commences on 1 January 2026. Section 12 says the income, gains or profits of an individual resident in Nigeria are deemed to accrue in Nigeria and are chargeable to tax in Nigeria wherever they arise, and whether or not they have been brought into or received in Nigeria. Section 120(1) says tax paid outside Nigeria may be allowed as a credit against the tax payable in Nigeria.

The Fourth Schedule sets the rates on an individual's chargeable income, after the reliefs and exemptions in section 30:

  • first N800,000 at 0%;
  • next N2,200,000 at 15%;
  • next N9,000,000 at 18%;
  • next N13,000,000 at 21%;
  • next N25,000,000 at 23%;
  • above N50,000,000 at 25%.

The Act also lists profits or gains from transactions in digital or virtual assets among chargeable income, and says losses on digital assets are deductible only against profits from digital or virtual assets.

The Act does not mention prop firms, funded accounts or forex trading, so this section does not say how a payout from a prop firm is classed. It is a reading of the statute for orientation, not tax advice.

Who collects a resident individual's tax, and when must you file?

Under section 3(2) of the Nigeria Tax Administration Act 2025 (Act No. 5), the tax authority of a State or the Federal Capital Territory is responsible for administering taxes on the income of resident individuals. The Nigeria Revenue Service handles companies and non-residents, among others. The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service's FAQ says every individual files an annual return with the State Internal Revenue Service of their state of residence.

Section 13(1) says a return of income must be filed with the relevant tax authority in each year of assessment, without notice or demand, by every taxable person, whether or not they are liable to pay tax. The return includes a self-assessment and the income from every source. Section 101 sets the penalty for failing to file at N100,000 for the first month and N50,000 for each month after.

The Act's text read for this page gives no filing date for individuals; state tax authorities announce their own deadlines. It does not mention prop firms. Ask a tax adviser or your State Internal Revenue Service before you file.

Frequently asked questions for traders in Nigeria

Is there a prop firm that pays out in naira?

This page has not checked any firm's deposit or payout currencies, so it names none. A firm's own payment and payout pages are where to look for the currencies and methods it supports. Read them for the currency you expect to receive, and if a page is unclear, ask the firm's support in writing before you buy.

What if a prop firm's page does not mention Nigeria?

Silence is not an answer. A firm's page may list only the countries it excludes, which says what is excluded and not that every other country is accepted. If Nigeria is not named either way, ask the firm's support in writing, keep the reply, and wait for it before you pay.

What should a trader in Nigeria check before paying a prop firm?

Check four things on the firm's own pages: whether residents of Nigeria can join, which currency the fee is billed in and which currency payouts arrive in, which payment and payout methods it supports, and whether the fee can be refunded. Note the date you read each page, because firms change their terms.

What are the London and New York session times in Nigeria?

Take each centre's day as 08:00 to 17:00 local time; that is a convention, not an official schedule. On that basis the two sessions overlap from 14:00 to 18:00 Lagos time in the northern winter and from 13:00 to 17:00 between roughly April and October. For a few weeks around March and late October the window runs from 13:00 to 18:00. Nigeria does not change its clocks.

Does the Central Bank of Nigeria's foreign exchange page mention prop firm payouts?

No. The page names examples of eligible transactions at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, such as medical needs, school fees, travel allowances and small and medium enterprise transactions, processed by deposit money banks. It does not mention prop firms, trading evaluations or payouts from them, so this page does not say how a bank treats such a payment.

Is income from abroad taxed in Nigeria?

Under section 12 of the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, the income of an individual resident in Nigeria is chargeable to tax in Nigeria wherever it arises, whether or not it is brought into Nigeria, and section 120 allows a credit for tax paid abroad. The Act does not mention prop firms, so ask a tax adviser how a payout is treated.

Which prop firms do traders in Nigeria search for most?

Which prop firms do not name Nigeria on their own restricted list?

The firms in the table, E8 Markets, Alpha Capital Group and Blue Guardian, do not name Nigeria on their own restricted lists (October 17, 2026 to October 28, 2026).
