Why most Kenya traders pick FundedFast
USDT/USDC payouts off-ramp to M-Pesa via Kenyan P2P exchanges in minutes -- one of the most practical foreign payout options for mobile-money users. Our $49 2-phase entry is fair on price. And one of the few that refunds the entry fee on your first payout. There's no 30-day countdown telling you when to trade. Evaluations run on your schedule. EAT (UTC+3) puts the London open at 11:00 and the New York open at 15:30, so the highest-liquidity overlap falls in the working afternoon and closes well before midnight. If you're comparing the best prop firms in Kenya and want to test our rules without committing serious capital, the $5K 2-Phase challenge is $49 and comes back on your first withdrawal.

What to know in Kenya
Prop trading evaluations are permitted for Kenyan residents. FundedFast is a Malta-based prop firm providing educational simulated challenges on demo accounts. Taxes on funded trader payouts in Kenya
Kenyan tax residents are taxed on worldwide income under the Income Tax Act, so funded trader payouts are taxable and reportable on your annual iTax return by 30 June. Individual rates are progressive, up to 35%. Treatment depends on classification. Consult a KRA-registered tax agent before filing.
General guidance only. Confirm with a local tax advisor before filing.
Is prop trading with a foreign firm legal for Kenyan residents?
Yes. Kenya's Capital Markets Authority regulates online forex under the Capital Markets (Online Foreign Exchange Trading) Regulations 2017, which require a licence only for a dealing forex broker (a market maker), a non-dealing broker (an intermediary), or a money manager who runs a client's live portfolio. All three are defined around holding or dealing client funds in live markets.
FundedFast fits none of those definitions. It sells a simulated evaluation on a demo account with no live-market exposure and no client funds held, and funds successful traders from its own capital. The CMA framework therefore does not apply to the evaluation model. Kenya's Virtual Asset Service Providers Act 2025 regulates crypto service providers, not individuals receiving a payout into their own wallet; FundedFast is a Malta-based (EU) firm, so a CMA licence is not applicable rather than missing.
This is general information, not legal advice. The CMA has not published guidance specific to prop firm evaluations. Consult a local legal advisor before purchasing a challenge.
How does the KRA tax prop trading payouts in Kenya?
Kenyan tax residents are taxed on worldwide income under the Income Tax Act, so profit-share payouts from FundedFast are taxable regardless of where the firm is incorporated. They are usually treated as business or self-employment income and declared on the annual individual return via the KRA iTax portal by 30 June of the following year. Rates are progressive: 10% on the first KES 288,000, rising through 25%, 30%, and 32.5% to 35% on income above KES 9.6 million, with a personal relief of KES 28,800 per year.
Convert USD payouts to Kenya Shillings at the relevant rate for the month received. FundedFast applies no withholding at source, so the gross payout is the starting point for your taxable income.
This is general information, not tax advice. The right classification depends on your facts. Consult a KRA-registered tax agent before filing.
Frequently asked questions for traders in Kenya
Is FundedFast available in Kenya?
Yes. Kenyan residents can purchase any FundedFast challenge, trade the evaluation on MatchTrader, and receive payouts once funded. Kenya is not on our restricted list. Standard video KYC applies within 7 days of your first payout request.
How do Kenyan traders get paid, and can I cash out to M-Pesa?
Payouts are issued in USD or EUR via cryptocurrency (USDT/USDC), SWIFT bank transfer, or PayPal. The popular route is crypto: receive USDT, then sell on a P2P exchange such as Binance, Bitget, or Bybit to a buyer who pays you in KES via M-Pesa, usually within minutes. KES is not a payout currency.
Are prop trading profits taxable in Kenya?
Yes. Kenya taxes residents on worldwide income under the Income Tax Act, so payouts from a foreign prop firm are taxable and declared on your annual iTax return by 30 June. Individual rates are progressive up to 35%. Convert USD to KES at the relevant rate and consult a KRA-registered tax agent.
Is FundedFast licensed by the CMA?
No. The Capital Markets Authority licenses online forex brokers and money managers that hold client funds and deal in live markets under the 2017 regulations. FundedFast sells a simulated evaluation on a demo account, holds no client funds, and pays profit share from its own capital, so the CMA licensing framework does not apply to this activity.
Can I trade NSE stocks on FundedFast?
No. FundedFast offers global forex, major indices (US500, NAS100, DAX, UK100), commodities and crypto CFDs via MatchTrader. Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) equities are not available. Most Kenyan traders focus on major forex pairs and global indices.
How do Kenyan traders receive payouts and reach M-Pesa?
FundedFast pays in USD or EUR via crypto (USDT/USDC), SWIFT bank transfer, or PayPal -- weekly, typically processed within 24-48 hours of a valid request. For most Kenyan traders the fastest route is crypto: receive USDT or USDC, then sell on a P2P exchange such as Binance, Bitget, or Bybit to a local buyer who settles in KES directly to your M-Pesa, usually within minutes. SWIFT transfers go to any Kenyan commercial bank in USD or EUR and typically settle in 2 to 5 business days.
Keep records of every payout. Larger foreign-exchange transactions in Kenya may require documentation through an authorised dealer, so retain your exchange and M-Pesa references in case your bank or the tax authority asks.
