How Your Trading Income Compares
Income by Account Size at 5% Monthly
These projections assume consistent monthly returns. Trading involves risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
How Funded Trader Income Works
Income on a funded account is a share of the profit the account generates, not a salary. Three things decide it: the size of the account, the return produced on it, and the profit split that determines how much of that return you keep. Nothing is earned on the account balance itself, only on gains made from it.
The Calculation
The tool applies this per month and shows the running result. Every figure it produces depends entirely on the return you assume.
Monthly income = Account size x Monthly return % x Profit split %
A 100,000 account returning 4% in a month generates 4,000, and at a 90% split the trader's share is 3,600. Halve the return and the income halves. Double the account and it doubles. The split is fixed by the firm, so the two variables actually under a trader's influence are account size and return.
What the Profit Split Means
FundedFast pays a 90% profit share, so 90% of the profit generated on a funded account goes to the trader. The split applies to profit only. A month that ends flat produces no income regardless of account size, and a losing month produces none while also consuming part of the loss allowance.
Why These Figures Are Assumptions
The calculator multiplies out a return rate you choose. It cannot know whether that rate is achievable for you, and it applies the same rate every month with no losing periods, which no account experiences. A losing month does not simply subtract, because it also lowers the base later months are calculated from. Read the output as arithmetic, not as a forecast of earnings.
Income and the Loss Limits
On a FundedFast challenge or funded account, both of which are simulated trading accounts, the maximum daily loss is 5% of your starting balance and the maximum total loss is 10% of your starting balance, raised to 20% where the drawdown add-on was purchased on an eligible account. Chasing a higher monthly return means larger positions against a fixed allowance, so the same rate that raises projected income also raises the chance of ending the account before any of it is paid.
This section is educational information about how funded-account income is calculated on a simulated evaluation account. It is not financial advice, not an earnings claim, and not a projection of results. No income is promised or implied.
Funded Trader Income FAQ
How much do funded traders make?
There is no typical figure, and any number would be misleading. Income depends on account size, the return actually produced, and the profit split, and a large share of funded accounts do not produce a payout at all. This calculator shows what a return you specify would generate, not what traders earn.
How is funded trader income calculated?
Account size multiplied by the monthly return percentage, multiplied by the profit split. A 100,000 account returning 4% generates 4,000, and at a 90% split the trader's share is 3,600.
What is FundedFast's profit split?
90% of the profit generated on a funded account goes to the trader. It applies to profit only, so a flat or losing month produces no income regardless of account size.
Do I earn money on the account balance itself?
No. The account is simulated capital used to generate profit; income comes from a share of that profit. A 100,000 account that ends the month flat produces nothing.
What monthly return should I enter?
Whatever you want to model. There is no rate that can be recommended or promised, and entering a high one demonstrates arithmetic rather than likelihood. Modelling a range, including losing months, is more informative than a single optimistic figure.
Does a bigger account mean more income?
For the same percentage return, yes, because the calculation scales linearly with account size. It also scales the currency amount at risk, and the loss limits scale with the starting balance too, so the percentage discipline required does not get easier.
How do losing months affect projected income?
More than the projection suggests. A loss produces no income that month and lowers the base every later month is calculated from, and recovering it takes a larger percentage gain than the loss itself. A model assuming twelve consecutive positive months describes an unusual outcome, not an average one.
Is this income calculator free?
Yes. It is free and does not require an account. Nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere; the calculation runs entirely in your browser.
